The Pretrial Services Department was created in 2017 by the Coryell County Commissioner’s Court with direct supervision falling under the Constitutional County Judge. The Pretrial Service Guidelines for release were developed by the Administrative Court Judge and signed by all Judges and Justices of the Peace. The primary purpose of Pretrial Services is to provide a means of release for those that are being held simply because they cannot afford bail and if released ensure court appearances. Pretrial Services also supervises anyone released on a personal recognizance bond when directed by the Courts.
