COPPERAS COVE — Several retail stores are planned for the next phase of the Five Hills shopping center in Copperas Cove, including a Ross Dress for Less and other clothing outlets.
Ross and five other retailers are listed as incoming stores to the second phase of construction of the Five Hills shopping center, which is anchored by an H-E-B Plus! that opened last year. In addition to Ross, rue21, Burke’s Outlet, Bealls, Dots Fashion and Rack Room Shoes are listed on the website of Endeavor Real Estate Group, which is developing the shopping center on the east side of Copperas Cove.
The developer on Monday was not able to give any details on the new stores or when they might open.
Monica Hull, director of business development for the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation, said new stores provide more local jobs and help the city with property and sales taxes.
“We like to see people keeping their money in town,” Hull said.
The Five Hills shopping center is nearly 130 acres. Stores began to move into the center early last year. According to Endeavor’s website, at least 10 shop spaces are still available, including one with about 50,000 square feet.
